I hesitate to share at Zaadz that I'm an ardent fan of The Sopranos. It's not exactly uplifting ~ at least not in the obvious ways, but great art is inspiring even when the subject matter is dark.

Excellence is inspiring too and The Sopranos was excellent on virtually every front: acting, writing, editing, drama, humor, etc.

Even the lighting was masterful. No other TV show ever made me think of Caravaggio.

Let's face it: The Sopranos wasn't about mobsters in New Jersey. It was about life in America Life.

And as a former choreographer, I know that using music optimally can make or break a work. The Sopranos was the one television show that didn't just have music. That music was a real score. The final scene, frustrating as it was, was a beautifully choreographed coda to a masterpiece.

Yeah, it moved me.

I totally agree.

I'm a huge fan. The series is masterful and, I think, compelling because it excels at so many levels.

As a metaphysical type I find its exploration of “the dark side” thorough and insightful. Nothing in the world is Black or White and the grey of the Sopranos sets off all the other colours of being like a carefully chosen mat sets off a painting.

Nice insight.
