My Manifesto: Radical Self Care is the Opposite of Selfish

It's a big cliche: "Mind Body Spirit". You see it everywhere: magazines, yoga studios, healtth food stores, t-shirts, websites. It's so vague, could mean anything you want. It's so popular, it gets smacked onto all kinds of products: make-up, soda, it may even be the next new cigarette!

We all know it means something good, right? Something we should be engaging in...But why? Where does it lead? And why does it matter?

You know, in our fragmented society, we actually experience outselves in separate ways. The body is separate from the mind, which is separate from the emotions and the spirit. Actually, there is no separation. When you begin to experience yourself as whole, the separations dissolve. You become authentic. You stop getting in your way. And in the way of the world.

Because when you'r whole, you're wholeness encompasses everything and everything encompasses you. There is nothing to get in the way. Problems dissolve.

So why is RADICAL Self Care the opposite of selfish? It makes wholeness possible. It makes selfishness and generosity the same. Confidence and humility become the same. Love for yourself and for others, the same.

You stop getting in the way of the world. You stop creating "problems". You experience the enormity of your strength.

Selfishness and neediness vanish.

What could be more selfish than NOT caring for oneself?
