Coaching for Tibet: Become a Coach by Supporting a Great Cause

Posted on Apr 1st, 2008 by Julia : Coach the Change Julia

Want to get coach training and support a great cause, too? If you've ever thought you might want powerful coaching skills to improve your relationships, your life, your business and everything you do, then this is the perfect opportunity. Join the Coaching for Tibet Project for as little as $20USD. Read on for details.

For a short time, you can gain admission to our signature training program for new coaches, Coaching Groundwork, by making a donation to the Intenational Campaign for Tibet.

Minimum donation is $20USD
to gain admission to Coaching Groundwork (you may of course, donate more). We normally sell this eight-hour training program for $200USD and now you can attend the live teleclasses and receive the Coaching Guides for as little as 10% of the regular fee.

This is a win-win-win approach
to spreading the power of coaching, while supporting a wonderful cause. We believe this coaching program will change your life and giving is the just your first step.

This special presentation of Coaching Groundwork meets 3-5 PM Eastern/NY Time, April 28, 29, 30 & May 1 (Monday - Thursday)

More info about the Coaching Groundwork program is located here.
The Coaching for Tibet version is identical, except that we will allow more people to attend, so we can raise more money for Tibet.

To participate in the Coaching for Tibet/Coaching Groundwork project here are your steps:

1.
Go here to make an online minimum $20USD donation to the International Campaign for Tibet (ICT). We encourage you to increase the amount of your donation until you want to say "Ouch!" (Remember, you're receiving a program that sells for $200USD and is known to change lives.) However, we're grateful for your donation, regardless!

2. You'll immediately receive a thank-you email from ICT.
Forward that email to Julia Stewart here. This is your proof that you donated.

3. We'll email you
to thank you for helping us raise money for this great cause and that email will also include details on how to access your eight-hour coach training program.

4. Pay it forward.
Tell everyone you know who is interested in coaching or Tibet. The more people who support this project, the more good we can do. This is a win-win-win project.

Why are we doing this?
The Coaching for Tibet Project came to me while walking the labyrinth at the St. Louis Center for Spiritual Living. I'd set an intention to introduce 100 people to coaching skills via SCM in 2008. I knew I could do this quickly if I offered Coaching Groundwork for free, but why not ask each student to make a donation to a great cause? The value they'd receive from the program would be multiplied by their generosity!

Why the Campaign for Tibet?
You may have heard about the recent crackdown on Tibet by the Chinese government.  They need out help. On a personal note, His Holiness the Dalai Lama of Tibet has influenced me as much or more as anyone else in my evolution to become a coach. It's my turn to give back.

Be the Change/Coach the Change

Posted on Jun 18th, 2007 by Julia : Coach the Change Julia
Coaching is ubiquitous. You are doing it all day long, whether you know it or not ~ Every time you care about someone ~ Every time you listen ~ Every time you ask a question ~ Every time you help someone grow ~ Every time you help them be, do or have what they really want ~

The real question is, Are you doing it effectively?

Here are a few clues: You are happier than you've ever been and the people around you are happier too. You get what you really want in life and you help others get what they want. You're evolving and people around you naturally evolve just by being near you. You're in service to others and helping others serve. You're reaching your full potential and helping others reach theirs. (No wonder you/they are happy!)

You're changing the world.

It used to be that only executives, high performers and rich people got coaches. Now coaching has infiltrated the human race. This is a very good thing.

How does it work?
Okay, here's a metaphor. A coach is to another person, like the Moon is to the Earth: When that other person has turned away from their inner voice ~ their source of light ~ life looks confusing and difficult; goals and problems are confounding, out of reach, even. But the coach ~ like the Moon ~  reflects the light, illuminates the situation, brings clarity and erases fear.

The results are phenomenal ~ maybe even celestial!

Seeds of Light (Zaadz of Light?) illustrates what I mean:

Seeds of Light

Here's what EVERYBODY IS COACHING is all about:

* Get coached. How much more could you do and be?
* Coach others. Be more effective at anything you do.
* Become a coach. Devote your life to positive change.
* Become a masterful coach. Lead the way!

Share a piece of art that's moved you recently.

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for June 18, 2007:

Tony_soprano

I hesitate to share at Zaadz that I'm an ardent fan of The Sopranos. It's not exactly uplifting ~ at least not in the obvious ways, but great art is inspiring even when the subject matter is dark.

Excellence is inspiring too and The Sopranos was excellent on virtually every front: acting, writing, editing, drama, humor, etc.

Even the lighting was masterful. No other TV show ever made me think of Caravaggio.

Let's face it: The Sopranos wasn't about mobsters in New Jersey. It was about life in America Life.

And as a former choreographer, I know that using music optimally can make or break a work. The Sopranos was the one television show that didn't just have music. That music was a real score. The final scene, frustrating as it was, was a beautifully choreographed coda to a masterpiece.

Yeah, it moved me.

Who do you love?

Posted on May 20th, 2007 by Julia : Coach the Change Julia
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for May 20, 2007:

I_love_you
Who do I love? Great question. I could give you a few answers, but I wouldn't really be telling the whole truth.

This is how I feel about feelings: We have them. And our minds, being meaning making machines, make up stories about why we have our feelings.

So if we feel stress, we say, "I'm stressed about ________." If we feel love, we say, "I love _______." But really, the story, the be(lie)f, isn't the point.

And the stories can be really confusing, when it comes to love, because really we're all One. So what does "who" have to do with it?

I love. That's it.

And the "you" ~ the "who" ~ is a given.

What purpose does money serve in your life?

Posted on May 17th, 2007 by Julia : Coach the Change Julia
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for May 17, 2007:

Money_life_energy_2
I'm letting my practical side and my philosophical side each answer this one, because their answers sound really different. Ultimately tho, it's all the same..

Practical Me: Money is a tool. It's useful. I like to have plenty coming in, cuz it's easier to do more with it, but I've discovered that when I use the tool in an educated way ~ when I'm smart with it ~ I can do way more with it than I thought possible. When I'm not smart with it, it is amazing how little I seem to accomplish.

It's a lot like using a computer: If you don't know how it works, it can leave you banging your head against a wall ~ but if you do know how to use it, it opens up new worlds for you.

Philosophical Me: Money is life energy. I expend my life energy creating value for others and they pay me money ~ which they were paid, because they expended their life energy creating value for others. For me, value and life energy are the same as love. Therefore:

Money = Love

Like I said, it's useful!

If you could design a school, what would it be like?

Posted on May 11th, 2007 by Julia : Coach the Change Julia
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for May 11, 2007:

Scm1_logo
Okay, this question sparks a vision of mine, which has been pulling me forward and helping me to choose which projects most excite me and which I need to take a pass on ~ I began having this vision last summer while I was coaching with Mattison Grey (a coach who really kicks butt). I was also listening to some old CD's by Thomas Leonard on the Principles of Attraction. Thomas was big on finding a vision to pull you forward and Boom! Suddenly I had one. (Okay, I love to watch Entourage.) Here's my vision:

What will the world be like when everyone, from childhood on, is coached everyday by everyone else, at home, at school, at work, etc.? How will people and the world be different? How will we treat each other? How will we handle problems?

If you've never been coached, these questions won't mean much to you, but if you have, you may be picking up my excitement already!

Coaching is a 2nd Tier (Spiral Dynamics) profession that facilitates emergence into the higher Values Systems, where people move away from blame and be blamed, to thrive and help thrive. Where they stop trying to control and start taking responsibility and where they begin to see the absolute perfection in everything and where they stop using precious energy to fight with one another and instead, start doing what works to solve problems once and for all.

What if everyone thought this way? What if children grew up this way? The world would be completely different. Many of our worst problems would be getting solved ~ as a matter of course!

So two of my pet projects are 1. A coaching school for non-coaches at ACE, the Association for Coaching Excellence. and 2. the School of Coaching Mastery, which is FOR professional coaches, because when "Everyone is a coach or soon will be" as we say at ACE, the need for coaches who are true masters in every sense of the word, becomes obvious.

In the near future, people will relate to each other in a whole new way. Instead of listening for what they can get from each other, they will get their egos out of the way and listen for what is unique about the other person, what they are feeling, what they value and what they really want and they'll help each other to be that and have that. They'll "get" each other quickly and develop profound relationships ~ that third entity that the Integral folks talk about ~ and their relationships will begin to do the work that individual egos have not been able to do. It's a huge leap in evolution ~ and it's truly possible in the near future.

I could go on and on here ~ but hey! I'll be late for Yoga...
